1.Time and Place
1.1. The competition will be taking place twice on the 14th March 2019 from 10.15 to 11.15 and 12.45 to 13.45.
1.2. The competition will be held in the inner courtyard of the Students’ house of Tallinn University of Technology (Ehitajate tee 5, Tallinn, Estonia) or in the Students’ house.
- Goals of the Competition
2.1. To popularize the profession of construction engineering.
2.2. To offer students and engineers in the field of construction engineering and architecture a challenge to employ their knowledge and through it enrich their work and studies.
- The Task
3.1. The competitors are required to saw off a construction detail that would fit the given criteria.
3.2. After receiving the task, the teams have a maximum of 10 minutes to produce their result.
3.3. Two teams will be competing at the same time, the pairs will be drawn at random.
3.4. The following tools will be provided:
3.4.1. A two-man saw
3.4.2. Saw horse
3.4.4. A pencil
4.1. This is a team competition. The maximum team size is limited to 2.
4.2. Participation in the competition is free.
4.3. There is no set age limit.
4.4. It is recommended for participants to have base knowledge about sawing and how to handle a saw.
4.5. Participation is voluntary and at the participant’s own risk. The hosts take no responsibility for possible accidents and their consequences.
5.1. Registration can be found on BuildIT 2019’s homepage.
5.2. In case of free spots, it will be possible to register to the competition on the spot before the start of the competition.
5.3. By signing up, all participants voluntarily give their consent for the use of all information gathered during the event including pictures and videos made of the participants for marketing purposes by BuildIT.
6.1. Judging will be based on how well the final result fits the given criteria and how much time it took.
7.1. 1st to 3rd place recipients will be rewarded.
